Fine Piano Tuning
Fine Piano Tuning involves the adjustment of all the piano's tuning pins so that all strings are brought back to their proper tension, thus producing their exact intended pitch. This process restores harmonious tones, pure sounding octaves and pleasing musical intervals such as 3rd's, 4th's and 5th's. It is highly recommended to maintain a piano's pitch at A-440 Concert Pitch. This is the pitch at which all orchestral instruments are played. Your piano was also engineered to provide maximum sound quality and tonal brilliance at this pitch. A-1 Piano Tuning has devoted almost 20 years to perfecting the art of fine piano tuning. Action Regulation
There are several moving parts between your fingers and the head of the hammer striking the string. Through the years, wooden action parts swell and shrink unevenly and supportive felts compress and wear unevenly from day to day playing causing your piano's action to eventually perform inconsistently. Action Regulation is a service that brings all of these parts, from key to string, back into the original specification. This service is helpful for those who notice "bobbling" hammers, uneven keys, a generally "clunky" or noisy action, or if you've noticed a general deterioration in your piano's performance. |
Pitch Raising
A precise and accurate Fine Tuning can only be accomplished when all of the piano's strings are close to their proper tension and pitch. If a piano has not been serviced regularly (at least once per year), the piano's string tension and pitch may have changed dramatically This is caused by seasonal temperature and humidity fluctuation which swell and then shrink your piano's soundboard. This essentially what causes a piano to fall out of tune. If this is the case, it is possible that your piano will require a pitch correction or "rough" tuning to stabilize the string tension enough to achieve a fine tuning. Rough tuning is only done when absolutely necessary and required to achieve a stable fine tuning. Repairs
